New Cube Pics

Well the system has been up for a little over a month now I think. It was connected to my frag system through the wall so my o so impatient self didn't have to wait to long to start putting in fish and coral. The tank is 36x36x26 all starphire. No need for it but they even made the bottom and overflow from starphire. It's rimless and euro braced. I have 1 400 20k Radium in a big Lumenmark III reflector backed up by 4 36" T5's with geisseman actinic+'s. The T5's are all using retrofit kits. I think I have enough light but I won't know until I par map the tank. Right now flow is being handled by a Laguna 1400 return into a 3/4" seaswirl, wp40 and a wp25. I have one open bulkhead in the overflow and a closed loop to a DART and a 1" seaswirl in the oposite corner is planned. Right now dealing with sand storms as I bought the tiny grain live sand. I think I am gonna slowly add a layer of larger less WHITE sand blended with crushed coral. Was going to go bare bottom but after seeing the problems guys were having with the star board and wife absolutely dispising the look of bare glass bottom I decided to go with a 2" sand bed and plan to rotate out 25% a year. Total system volume is somewhere around 310 gallons right now. (4x40Gal frag tanks and a 45 gal sump)

Next purchases before anything else is going to be an APEX, bigger skimmer (currently using a ASM G1X), and Dosing pumps.

Ok some pics. They are small mini colonies but are doing excellent and noticing growth after in only 2 weeks.

Also wanted to try out the new camera. 18mp Nikon CoolPix p520. No removable lense but it has nice manual adjustments and a macro function.

That RBTA looks familiar -- Camera looks like it is going to work - I would suggest a run through Adobe Lightroom to remove that slightly washed out look - change the white balance slightly away from blue - bump the tint down slightly towards green and the contrast up and those will be some nice shots.
