new fish introduction procedures?

Hi all - what is your procedure for quarantining new fish before introduction to a DT? Do you treat with copper (Cu) or just let time pass. If you use Cu, do you act as if you have a sick fish or do you just dip? How long? thanks.

For me, it really depends on the specific fish. Some tolerate copper and some don't do well with it. A good four week observation period goes a long way and should show most issues. I like to do two rounds of prazi on all fish for flukes. I treat for five days, do water change and treat again after a five day break. Meds can suppress appetite so I always try to get the new guys eating well first when possible.
