I have a GBTA and a RBTA that are next to one another and the same size but my Occ's will not even consider the GBTA for some reason. It only took them 4 days to dive into the RBTA and the GBTA was already in the tank.

I wish you the best of luck.

hmmm i guess we will see if they take to it eventually i wanted to pick up a rbta so if they dont take to the current one guess there will be another chance down the line. all the rbta in my area are so small though like the size of a fifty cent piece.

Nice. Looks healthy. Don't be surprised if it loses its bubbles. They often do. There is really no known reason for bubbling vs not. Don't forget to feed the GBTA. I recommend silversides once a week. It is probably hungry and it is good to check the feeding response anyway.

Also, it took my female Occ. 3 months before it took my RBTA as a host. Another 3 months before the male joined her. So it could just take time. BTAs are not their natural host, so it can be hit and miss.

How long have the clowns been together? The picture makes them look about the same size. Has one started dominating yet?

yea tried silverside i hung onto it then late it go like 2 hours later after i thought it had ate it. i have been target feeding it frozen when i feed everyone else. gonna try silverside again soon. the clowns are fairly new to my tank ive only had them about a month or so. but i bought them as a pair.

Mine have been in the tank with both BTA's for about 1 year with the BTAs touching one another and my occs will not even look at the GBTA. I wish they would but NOPE. Something about the red color draws them too it, I think.

I rarely like as in once every couple of month feed mine. I used to feed them and they just grew a lot after every meal so I stopped. These guys are very good at thriving off of just photosynthesis and light filter feeding and they will still grow. Also I have read many posts about the use of silverslides and they are almost never positive ones so keep that in mind.

Can you please supply some links for negative issues with silversides? I am very interested to see that considering I have seen nothing but positives. I always like to read the other side of things.

BTW, if you haven't checked out this site, I found it very informative about BTAs (and she does feed silversides). karensanemones. I don't fully agree with her filtering setup (but it seems to work for her), but the stuff on BTAs is interesting... Especially the feeding bit.

Keep us updated.

I've been feeding mine PE mysis, seems to work fine...it never would really take silversides aggressively - may just be an individual case though.
