did a trade with Dave this weekend and got a beautiful pair of maroon's. don't mind the algae as they are in my 50 gal fuge. as you can tell i got some cleaning to do. still trying to get a rbta out of the main DT for them.

sorry for the crappy pic as i suck with top downs.

I think the picture came out much better than the ones I had through the glass LOL. They are a beautiful pair and hopefully soon you start getting some eggs.

My Mocha pair were playing in the anemone on the way home in the truck but once in the tank they haven't even looked at it. I'm sure they will in time. For now they are swimming all over the place, haven't found anything they want to host them yet LOL

I've got a HUGE Emerald crab I might bring over next time I visit you. His shell is almost 2" from point to point, and the claws are enormous.

Yeah out of about 20 pics that was the best, not bad though.

Hopefully the mocha's figure out the anemone. They still holding their own against the angel?

I have a few emerald in the fuge but there is to much ba for them to keep up. Im gonna do a good scrape down this weekend and clean it up. At least it stays in the fuge though.

Nice I wish I had held out for a maroon pair.

Ty, they have always been one of my favs but liveing in a remote area it would be hard for me to pair them up, if the male wouldnt work out i would have to drive 3 hours round trip just to try a new male.

When I bought my Nems they were actually hosting a pair of Maroon clowns. I had the opportunity to purchase the clowns as well and regretfully I didn't. I ended up with a pair of Occ. clowns that go no where near the Nems LOL.

Heck mine have been in there for almost 2 years now. They rarely ever leave the left side of my tank to explore.

Ya a few tattered fins but all is good, the Cherub finally pretty much left them alone. Now every once in a while he chases after them but nothing comes of it.

Before I went to SC this morning I found the BTA in the sand lol it fell off of the rock while walking around. I called it a stupid so and so and told it to stay. Well it's still where I put it LOL right where it started out.

So the clowns are non stop swimming around the tank and every once in a while the female takes a look at the BTA. Hopefully they figure it out soon er than later. Never know I could put lights out tonight and she dives in... Well I can hope anyway

I can honestly say that you will have no problem with the maroons getting in a BTA, they might fight to see who is first LOL and ya she will win.

Well the RBTA that I got from Shifty is still sitting in the same place  But the clowns still won't have anything to do with either of my two BTA's. The female is however showing some love for my purple candy cane :lmao: I've placed the candy cane right between both BTA's so hopefully she'll get the idea.

Shifty, how about an update on the Maroon pair? Were you able to get them a BTA yet?

took my maroon pair about a year to host an anemone, but had 3 die on me as they didn't care for it and help feed it. Now I have a RTBA that has split twice and they regularly spawn near it.

LefkoNJ what kind of anemone did you get? BTA's are Maroon Clowns natural host, anything else might not get hosted.

new gold stripe maroon pair

@ shifty . Very nice pair !!
Lol... when I used to have a pair of gold band maroons like that at first they lived on and under a trachyphyllia .... Then I added a green bubble tip and a condylactis ... They killed the Gbta and lived in the condylactis for the next few years...

Sometimes they are picky and sometimes not so much!
