Hello everyone. New here. Going to be setting up my 7.5g reef in the next few days. Looking to gain as much knowledge as I can along the way. Very excited to do and learn as I go along

Thanks everyone. Picking up the tank and supplies tommorow and plan to start the set up either tommorow night or Thursday. Can't wait

Have patience
test the water during cycle
maintain steady salinity through ro/di top offs
Do weekly water changes
Do not overstock fish. (1-2 small fish may be your MAX)

And... have fun :)

A small tank is difficult to start off with since there is so little water volume to work with, even the smallest mistake can have major consequences. that said, if you can master a 7.5 gallon tank you can handle just about any other sized tank. Best of luck. Be very careful on your fish selection, there are very few species that will survive long term is such a small tank. Keep one fish maximum if any at all.

Welcome to the group, there's a lot of vital information available. Safe to say, almost anything that you'll encounter is probably a thread already.

My money is on that 7.5 gallon being the quarantine tank for your 30 gallon in 6 months. Unless you're content with one goby and one shrimp. If so, nano tanks are very cool, but are not easy, like people said above.
