New Light Timer

Hey Guys,

I need help purchasing a new light timer. I need one that can support two LED's, and gradually turn them on and off. I would also like one that has some battery backup to it, so if the power goes out my system isnt completely screwed.

I would be cool with either a timer JUST for the two lights, or if it was built into a power bar or battery backup bar where two outlets are controllable..

Thanks guys!

Why don't you get a Digital Aquatics ReefKeeper Lite controller? They're cheap and you can add on to it as needed or when you can afford it. I've been using mine for years and I can't imagine how I would do without it.

I agree with the others, no regular timer at stores will be able to gradually ramp your lights up and down, they will only turn them on or off.

Will need a controller for ramping up/down. LEDs must be dimmable as well. If you do go the reefkeeper route that will require an additional module.

Are there any models that allow for gradual on/off without additional items?

There are four outlets in a PC4, which is the power strip that comes with the ReefKeeper Lite. You can add up to four total strips, but if all you want to begin with is to regulate your lights, one PC4 should be adequate. The unit comes with a temperature probe, so you can make your heater(s) failsafe and/or operate fans in the summertime. This has been an extremely reliable tool for me. Visit the Digital Aquatics site and you'll see the benefits...all for $130.

Neptune makes ones as well either the Apex Jr or the more expensive but more plugs the AC Jr, you can turn your lights on and off control the heater and fan place your skimmer on a delay in case of a power outages so the skimmer does not overflow,

What led fixture is this? If it's not a dimmable fixture, it could explode or die on you if you try to dim it.
