We had a disaster this weekend..... Long story short we had a custom canopy with 2/ 175W 10K Bulbs and a 96W PC Atinic bulb. My wife was lifting the canopy to feed the fish and the hinge snapped!!! The canopy fell apart and the bulbs exploded... I posted on my local reef forums and thankfully jcaquatics.com is local to me and helped me get a 48" Nova Extreme T5 8x54w Saturday night.
We love the new fixture and the amount of light it gives off, hopefully we can keep anything we want in the tank with it.
Ok now to my question. The fixture came with 4 Atinic bulbs and 4 10 Daylight bulbs. Should we maybe add 2 daylights to the atinic set or just keep it as is? someone had told me you should go around 25% atinic in the fixture rather then 50/50/
