New lights equals new algae

I recently received new lights (2x65 watt actinic and 2x65watt daylight) and put them on my 60 gallon aquarium. I was seeing some diatoms as the tank is only a few months old. Since I put on the new lights, the diatoms have vanished and this new reddish-purple algae has emerged. It seems to only grow on the glass and has not made it to my rocks or sandbed. I usually do weekly changes at ten gallons each using premixed RO water from the lfs. Should I be worried about this stuff overtaking my tank? When I clean the glass with the mag float my tank becomes a red haze for a few moments.

just the change in light level caused diffrent algae growth...its fairly common with new lights

Your tank has to adapt to the new lights, its normal. Just be patient, make sure your not overfeeding coral or fish and if the algae gets really bad cut the lights back and slowly work your way up to 8 hours a day.
