New Macro Tank build

Hi all I have on RC for several years now. I am wanting to add a remote tank to my 90G mixed reef. I will be usuing a 20 long on the other side of the wall from the 90.

I wanted to run a mag 18 to run everything however the mag5 fell in my lap so I run the 90 on a mag 9.5 and the macro tank will be on the mag5.

I have everything plumbed already. I am looking on some info on lighting, substrate, flow and the possibilities of usuing half of the tank for a frag tank. Also what else can inhabit the tank.

The bigger the refugium the better. I use par 30 LED bulbs from lowes to grow my chaeto. As far as substate some people do have sand in the refugiums but i took mine out. Easier to clean the tank out if there is detritus settlement. Remote deep sand beds is also possibility. Macro's dont like to much flow. I would def use some sort of valve to control the flow in the fuge. I know Chaeto like to tumble if possible but i have never had any luck with that process. I tend to just give the chaeto a spin every week or so. Good luck with the build.

Are you wanting it for nutrient export or display? There are many display worthy macros out there. A big ball of chaeto is in my opinion the least interesting and boring possibility out there. Good for pod home though.
