new maxima color

I just got a new maxima clam from www.saltwaterfish.com and it was supposed to be a green one, but now that it is open in my tank, it looks more like the gold ones. Will it just take time to color up, or will it likely stay this way. Any input would be greatly appreciated

Unfortunatly that is one of the problems you encounter from buying a clam online that you can't see first. It may currently have a lesser color coming out due to stress but I wouldn't expect it to change much, maybe just get a little brighter.

We have found out that the green clams will appear to be blueish when view through the side of the tank. I bet if you look from the top down, it will be green.

It looks tan from the side, and gold from the top. The spots and pattern looks like a green one, but the color is off under both 10k and 20k light.

i dont mean to be negative but if you wanted a clam you should have went with a reputable vendor. i know when i want to place an order for something nice i go to a place wiht the best rep, i know saltwaterfish.com does not have the best one. best of luck to you though

i just baught a green maxima and its more brown. Baught it from saltwaterfish.com also and I got a purple one with alot of blue dots but was expose to be a grade A blue who knows.
