new mushrooms???

are these little white fuzzies on the right face of the rock new mushrooms??

no they are scypha sponges (more commonly called pineapple sponges). They're harmless filter feeders and tend to stick to only dark areas. My tanks usually all go through a phase of them in the beginning months and then they seem to die out after a while. You may see an explosion of new ones though now. Usually when i see a few, like a week later i find a whole bunch more.
