I am setting up a 30-33g oceanic cube and was wondering about a few things.

I currently have no problems keeping sps and keeping good color in my 125g. I woul like to do sps in the cube, but is it alot harder to keep them happy in a smaller tank?

Also what skimmer would you suggest for this tank. Would a MR2 be overkill since I have one already or should I do a coralife?

Would a retro 250w MH be ok to use for the cube? I will also have zoas on the bottom with some blasto's and acans.

What pump size would you suggest for the return?

I am going to have to drill the back and was wondering if I should go ahead and drill 4 holes. 1 for the drain, 1 for the CL, and 2 for the CL return. Would this be too many holes for this tank to endure?

I have more, but let's work on these if you please.

Thanks. ;)

well in my 20 for a return i have a mag 3 rated to 350 gph but i have to tone that way down as 350gph is way to much for my 20. i would do a remora with a maxi if you can other then that your coralife will be just fine. as for the holes you will be drilling i have no idea i just used a CPR overflow.

If you have a chance, check out the 30 cube club over on Nano-reef.com. A member there named oogiecube has done some very nice mods of his tank and keeps sps in it.

BTW- if it is 1/4 th ( by volume that is ) as nice as your 125, then it's gonna be a very nice tank. I really enjoyed seeing those fts pics of your 125 and your zoo collection.
