New Peacock tank

I just set up a new tank for my peacock, Thumper. The tank is a 30 gallon, 36" long tank with about 50 lbs live sand and perhaps 25 lbs live rock. I have a 10 gallon sump/fuge with chaetomorpha, and a G. smithii.

The main tank has 4x39W T5 lighting (3 10K, 1 actinic). The sump has 2x18W PC (6.5K and actinic), on a reverse daylight cycle.

The skilled observer will note Thumper leaving her cave for a look around.

This weekend I'm getting some more corals at the LFS.

Enjoy,
Dan

Oh, and yes, that's a morning star on the wall (somehow appropriate). And yes, the whole room is that color, and yes, the vertical blinds are black. :)

Very nice tank! Stand kind of scares me a little lol
I have the same light scheme but i am thinking of switching to 2 and 2 actinic.

The stand is solid oak and is meant for a big TV. It's not going anywhere. The tank is acrylic so if the base flexes a little, the tank isn't in any danger of cracking.

Glad you liked it!

My lighting started as 2x10K, 2x actinic. The result was a little too blue for my tastes, and I wanted to keep some soft corals in there that appreciated more light. The 3x10K solution was perfect.

I'll probably start with some form of leather (I'd love a Fiji Yellow if I can find one in good shape, but aside from that, something with an interesting color), and perhaps some LPS (red open brain, perhaps a hammer coral). I'm also going to add a few fish, because Thumper doesn't seem too interested in them -- maybe a shoal of green chromis and a six-line wrasse.
