new percs

I just bought a pair of percula clowns 2 days ago and put them in my QT tank. How long before they start eating? They otherwise appear healthy and have no lesions.

The longest I have had a newly aquired clown pair go without eating was one day. I have had some pairs eat immediately after being released into the aquarium.

It took one week for the surviving percula to eat. That was sure a relief. The fish is now 3 weeks old and doing great. 3 days ago, i added a larger percula and they paired up nicely. The new one ate immediately and both appear healthy. My 150 is now cycling and awaiting is new inhabitants.

Prior to bringing home the 2nd Percula, it was treated for ich at the LFS, then I waited another week before taking him home. Her blotchiness cleared up by the time i picked her up but she has this patch by her right fin and I don't know what it is. It almost looks like an abrasion I have treated the quarantine tank with rid ich for the past 3 nights. What do you guys think that patch is? I was hoping it was resolving blotchiness from prior infection but I treated anyway just to be safe. The original clown has remained disease free. I'm sick of doing water changes every night.

Just to be safe, if you added the new clown to your QT tank with the existing clown, I would personally re-start my QT time for both fishes. I wouldn't want to risk pulling the 1st one out and have something on it from the second fish that was already being treated for ICH.

Well, clown 1 was only in there for no more than a week before. I think that patch on the skin is just scarring and may be there for a while.
