My 20 gallon quarantine tank finally finished cycling, and I picked up a mated pair of percula clownfish over the weekend to start off with. The LFS said that they had the pair for three weeks, and they looked healthy. They appear to be doing great in quarantine. So far, I have fed them frozen mysis shrimp once a day and they have loved it. My questions are:
1) What are the best things to be feeding them right now? Along with the frozen mysis, I also have New Life Spectrum 1mm pellets and Ocean Nutrition Formula Two pellets. Should I be rotating all three of these? Are there other foods I should get as well? I've seen people soaking their food in garlic and other additives...should I be doing this? Is once a day feeding alright in quarantine? I don't want to have an ammonia problem.
2) I know there are many opinions on this, but does anyone have a recommendation as far as medicating proactivly? They currently look healthy so I'm leaning towards just observing for 4 to 6 weeks. I currently have PraziPro and Cupramine, but I'm not sure if either one of those would be beneficial. It seems that a Formalin bath is a common clownfish treatment, but not sure if I want to go that route if they appear healthy.
Thanks for any help!
