Well after getting the upgrade to the 120g done, I still had to find a way to hide the mass of wires and power supplies on the side of the tank. So yesterday I decided to build a cabinet to match the stand. The wife decided half way in to make it a bit different instead of 100% identical. Have to love my wife.
Anyway, I used all Oak again and was able to find my partly used can of stain from re-doing the stand and canopy to make those fit the new 120.
Here is a before pic of what I was dealing with....
Here is the finished product....
The top opens to gain access. Inside now houses the DC-8 and DC-4 for my Aquacontroller III. Along with those items are the surge/powersupply to run it all. The front panel is actually a blind door. I made it so it will come off easily, but main access will be from the top. I really do not plan to store anything in it except ,what was mentioned above so I did not need front access. All wires go through 3x6 holes on each side of the back panel. I made 2 holes to run the wiring on opposite sides of the cabinet to avoid any potential interference with the controller. The coralvue ballasts are now mounted on the back of the cabinet also (outside) instead of on top of the tank. So far everything works as planned and no interference has been noticed.
Thanks for looking.
