New pump recommendation

After several delays, I'm finally ready to move forward with myh 210G in-wall reef.

I need feedback on which return pump to use.

Premium Aquatics recommended a Sequence Wahoo Uno (mabye overkill? wouldn't a Dart be a better fit?). But the guy I've hired to help me set things up right and plumb the system in gun shy about the Sequence pump because its a direct drive. His position is that all direct drives do work great but don't have the long term durability and should plan on being replaced after about 2 years. His recommendation is a Blue Line pump. However, these don't seem to be overly popular and aren't the easiest things in the world to find. Because of that, it makes me a little nervous that maybe it really isn't the best option.

Thoughts and opinions are very appreciated!

The dart is tooo big for a return pump, would make a good closed loop pump. I use a Posiedon PS2 for my return pump, but my sump is under the stand.
Where is the sump going to be in relation to the tank?

The sump will be direcly underneath the tank. The stand height is probably around 36"+ high (I'm at work or I would go measure it exactly).

How big is the sump, & do you want alot of noise & splashing?
That will determine what pump you want.

The sump will be 48 X 18 X 24 which is suppose to be around 100 Gallon. I'm still deciding if I should section off a part of it for a fuge - but I guess that's another discussion.

I want good flow through the tank to help prevent dead spots but other than that, I'd like to keep splashing and noise to a minimum. I also want to be careful not oversize the pump for what the drains can handle.

Have you heard about this reliability problem with "direct drive" pumps?

IMO direct drive pumps require less mtc. But when the seal starts to leak, you will have to replace it.
You only need enough flow thru the sump for your skimmer & fuge. Then go with a closed loop & or internal pumps for flow.
