first off tank info 45 gallon cube (24x18x24) with 10gal sump with Vertex in-100 skimmer. that has been cycled for 4 months (i know should be at least 6 months). lights are a t5 retrofit but only have 4 of them on due to a ballast not working. i have a new one on the way with individual reflectors. that will make 6 24 watt lights total. bulbs that are on are ati blue+, uv actinic white, blue+, and GE 6500. the ones that are off are ati aquablue, and blue+.
Parameters: Temp-78 and constant, PH-8.4 and constant, Specific Gravity-1.025 and constant, NH3/NH4-0ppm, NO2-0ppm, NO3-5ppm (a little higher then i want)
now the questions, i purchased a RBTA and a pair of maroon clown fish from a fellow reefer on sunday 10/17 and have noticed some spots on the anemone (see pic's below). what are these?
also the next day (10/18) i noticed that the smaller male clowns pelvic fins were a little frayed. i instantly thought fin rot but did not see any mucous. i started to think that the larger one nipped him at night because they bickered the first night when the lights went out about who sleeps in the anemone because the anemone folds up. he now knows his place and sleeps on the outside. now the next day (10/19) the fins look a little better. does my theory make sense? can a fin start to heal this fast?
this spot looks like the one below. also what are the white spots?
thanks,
