New rics from Coralfanatics.com

Well guys I bet some of you remember my recent thread "My new rics came in today!" that I got from Sealife.inc and I came across Coralfanatics.com and saw some nice pieces so I had to buy them. Needless to say I will not be buying much of anything for awhile. I might run out of food and starve to death, but at least I got my rics. :)

Well, I just picked up the package from the post office about 30 mins ago and pulled everything out and now they are floating to match the temperature in my tank. I am very pleased.

You can see pics of the rics that I bought in my previous thread- http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113235 .

Here are some pics of them floating-

I'll have new pics of them in my tank probably tomorrow or at the latest Friday.

Thanks! I forgot to mention I also got a free hitchhiker brittlestar!! lol

Two of the orange/pink with purple edges where being difficult and attached to rubble and stretched in such a way that they where easily fragged, so two now become four :) . there are like 3-4 different shades of orange, it is pretty amazing and I got a yellow/gold ric with purple inner circle and purple edge. I am VERY pleased.

They have awesome customer service. Very quick replies. I had a question about the order when I placed it on Sunday at 2:00 am my time and I guess midnight their time and I sent an email expecting it during the afternoon or something but I actually got a reply about ten mins after I sent the email. Pretty amazing.

Once they grow out Lance we might have to t**de a true pink I have for that yellow with purple center you have.....Being a Vikings fan and all I don't think I should not have one in my tank....I saw that pic you took in the other thread and it looks sweet.....

Ok. Well here are some bad pictures taken by my phone since I dont have a camera.

The three on the rock coming out- lime green, pink w/ purple, and gold colorish

Green, blue, orange, purple/gold, and yellow w/ purple <-- The one your talking about Azurel? it is really small, I'm thinking about taking it off the rock and giving it some of its own space. then a blue one and a cool faded out orange colored one.

Flourescent green and two blue's

Really bad pic but it's the little blue one on the left and the big one is a 3 mouth pale purple color.

Another bad pic of two very nice orange w/ green mouth rics (it was one when I got it but I cut it and it's completely healed in < 3 days.

Another pic of another orange ric w/ orange mouth. Same deal as the other one, cut it when I got it and it's already healed.

My lighting doesn't show the colors very well. I'm not going to sell/trade for awhile, until I have multiples of everything. I'm planning on tying in another ten gallon as a frag tank with this ten gallon that will have a 24'' 2x 24 watt Icecap retro from reefgeeks, or if I can find a MH that's cheaper I'll get that.

I hear ya on the multiples......That's OK when ever you get them big enough.....I am not going anywhere that will give me more time to get more true pinks fragged and growing anyway....Nice little ric pack you got there...

I just placed an order with coralfanatic after looking at your rics. I generally order from Ken but I also love the fact they are already mounted and the fact that wysiwyg, unfortunately some guy name lance bought all the good ones:lol:

How often do they add new ones to the site? Hopefully I can get a few more before it is shipped.

I just checked the site and several of the rics I bought are also showing they were bought by someone else? I guess it will be first come first serve? I emailed them to see

Smartang what shipping do you go with? I opted for the 2 day shipping to save $.

Yea I had the same thing happen where I bought a piece and I was looking through the sold page and another person had the same exact one. But I got it exactly as it looked in the pic so I don't know what the other person got.

Well, the whole it was sold to me and then to someone else also happened to a bright green ric. I just hope it is as bright green as it looks.

I decided on the overnight shipping. With the weather here in Chicagoland you never know what it will be like. I didn't want to take the chance and have it 20 degrees and snowing on a truck for a day or longer. When it gets to be a more normal temp. I would do the 2 day shipping. I know it is probably packed well, I just didn't want to risk it.

I get mine tomorrow. I bumped up the day!! Too excited!!

Deidre worked it out, she emailed me back and said the other person that bought the same rics as me agreed to take identical rics so I get my rics afterall.

cool smart tang, make sure and post us some pics when you get yours. I got 4 more yesterday I just couldnt help myself. I am trying to wait the full 10 days in hopes I may find some more goodies I really like.

How often does she add new stuff to the site?

I have ordered from them before in the past also. I ordered some stuff in November. Unfortunately I also got a batch of flatworms with it.

I am by no means trying to bash anyone or scare any one. I am just trying to give a heads up and make sure you treat before putting in your tank. I wish I would have done this, I will NEVER make that mistake again. I have treated the tank three times now since November. I hope they are gone for good this time.
There corals are really nice and very healthy. I was pleased with the order and the corals I got, this is just a heads up and an FYI.

thanx for the heads up.. what do you treat with?

I typically put them straight in my tanks but i could quarantine and treat seperately if need be.

I got my shrooms today at work. I will keep an eye out for unwanted critters. I am going to do a freshwater dip. Glad to hear about the good experiences with Coral Fanatics. I will get some pics too as soon as they open up! Lance, great way to talk about good experiences! I have a feeling that I will be ordering from them again really soon! But I will have to be quicker than you!!!

I treated with Salifert Flatworm Exit.

It does work but it takes 3-4 times the recommended dosage, and multiple treatments.

I definitely learned my lesson. I heard people talk about treating and I always thought, "that will NEVER happen to me" Yeah, right!

5 years I brought stuff home and plopped it in my tank, with no ill effects. I heard one guy say one time "it's not a matter of IF, just a matter of WHEN" well 'when' was November of last year. I treated for the third time two weeks ago.

As I mentioned before just a heads up and an FYI, for a CYA.
