new sand

i recently purchased a new diamond goby and as most of you know he moves sand everywhere but where i want it...i am going to add some more sand...is there anything i should do besides rinse it and add small amounts?

I recommend putting it in a plastic bag, close the top of the bag so no sand comes out. Put it at the bottom of the tank and then cut the bottom with a knife or a scissor.
