i will be upgrading my tank soon. i was thinking of a 20 hex
or maybe a 30 cube but i want to glue some rock shelves to the back. what is the best way to do that?
i want to go with a back pack protein skimmer. and a power head or two.
the tank will have around 4 inches of sand. i want to have sea grasses and gorgonians and sponges with some soft corals like tree corals.
the tank will hold one or two seahorses pairs.
i will add more information as my plans get clearer.
let me know if u have any ideas

The system I'm setting up now has a black background, and I used black silicone sealant to stick shelves of lace rock to the back wall. I'm planning on putting red macro algae clumps in the shelves, and planting the 7" sandbed with seagrasses.

If you're upgrading, go with the 30 cube. Bigger is always better, and 20 gallons will be too small with 2 pair of horses, 4" of sand, and all the landscaping you want to do.

I propped the shelves up with other pieces of rock until the silicone dried. Oh, and the tank was on its side when I did this.

You have to let it cure for a MINIMUM of three days. I'd give it more to be on the safe side.

I used All Glass Aquarium Silicone, in Black. My LFS ordered it for me.
