New set up question

My new tank will be sitting on hardwood. Should I place a piece of carpet or styrofoam under the stand? The hardwood is is pretty level but there may be a high or low spot here and there.

The carpet wouldn't hurt for a sound dampener and a kinda pad between the floor and the stand. My tank sat on a floor with hardwood before so my stand is lined with a heavy duty rubber mat gathered up around the corners to 1.catch water in case of a overflowed sump or leaking pipe 2.dampen sound and vibration
