New Skimmer & Locker

Its been on my mind for a while now and I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. Came home today and my skimmer decided to go crazy while I was at work. Yep, water on the carpet. Skimmer was too small for the bigger tank and been looking for a used one for a bit.

Michael at FB hooked us up with a new Bubble Magus Curve 7 and a Skimmate Locker for a great price. Its up and running...now to dry the carpet.

Those skimmate lockers are like gold, Ill never do another tank without one. I dont care what skimmer you have, its gonna overflow eventually IMO.

I think it is temperature related mine puked on Tuesday when I got home from work it was overflowing. I think the higher ambient temperature caused it since my tank was up from 78 to 80. I had the skimmer adjusted just above half cone where I normally run it. But when I got home from work it had filled the cup and pushed about 1/4 cup of skimmate back into the tank! Luckily mine is in the sump so if it overflows it just dumps back into the sump. I'm telling myself the pods had a feast on the junk.....:frog:
