I want too see what everyone thinks would be the best protien skimmer for the money. I have a 55g display with a 20g sump fuge. I want an in sump skimmer. I would like to hear any experiences good or bad and opinions on which model may be my best bet. I will be purchasing a new one mid to end of Febuary. Thanks

I know a lot of people rag them, but ASM skimmers work well for reasonable $$. They are in sump skimmers, they are not built as well as the more expensive ones but they do what they are designed for. As Joey said, depends on price range, and yeah, ATB cone is the jaguar of skimmers

Then I would say 160 or the 200. I ran the 200 for a couple yrs. Well mine was a MSX but pretty much the same. I just sold my 200 today. Great skimmer for the price.Im sure they are more but this one is the only one Ive used. I heard that Bubble Magnus is a good cheaper skimmer also

I have always loved my asm for the money. I would think a g-1 or g-2 would be a lot of skimmer for that size tank and bigger. I run a g-3 on my 110+ gallon. I have a remora pro with a mag5 that could run in sump and it skimmed the dog out of a 75 gallon tank. I would sell for 100 bucks if anyone interested.

Yeah Ive owned a few ASM skimmers and a MSX/Octo will run circles around a ASM and there the same price Just IMO tho

the msx is kicking butt and I can tell you for the money the bubble magnus is a good skimmer but the pump are a little cheap
