So my overflow box is to small to fit your standard T & elbow fittings for a Durso. So I decided to just use two elbows, cut them down, and drill a hole @ the top of one of the elbows. Works just like a durso, but takes up less space. Works perfect, well almost...

Off and on, the flow runs at a perfect siphon with minimum noise. How do I get it to run perfect all the time? Let me know if I'm on the right track, but this is what I plan on doing. Drilling a larger hole, insert tubing with a valve on the end to open/restrict airflow. Sound about right? Any specific amount of tubing I should be inserted in the fitting hole? Heres a vid of the siphon running good, this is how I want it all the time.

BTW, the straw is not the finished product.

I don't understand. I did the same thing a while ago. A durso is not a syphon the hole at the top allows air in. In my system I use the bean animal drain system so I ran airline tubing fron the air hole to about 1 inch above the water line so if it rises to that level it cuts the air off from the durso and creates a syphon and drains more quickly

I could not take good pics of mine as my lights are off and I am using iPhone for this but I think you can get an idea of what i did with these
