New Sunpod

I just bought a new sunpod HQI 20'' and was wondering if i really need a glass cover on my aquarium. Its a 24gallon aquapod. I was just curious because I want to setup the tank, butthe instructions say that I need a cover on the tank. Are they really necessary?

I ran my AP 24 the whole time with no cover; had the same SunPod as yours. That disclaimer is to protect Current against lawsuits. You see, if that light gets knocked off into the water, you are likely to get electrocuted. With good reason it is recommended. However, your tank will run much cooler without the cover.

You speak of it in the past tense. Did something happen to it?
