New tank for frags

My new 50 gallon tank is going! Have a look in my gallery. Now that my SPS tank is nearly a year old I needed more space to grow frags from that tank. Instead of building eggcrate shelves, I thought I'd just glue the frag plugs all over the live rock. Hopefully I'll have 75 or so frags by the time summer comes around and we can have a frag swap here in Memphis.

I bought the basic set up from Richard a month or so ago. The stand was a bit beat up, and really darkly stained, so as you'll see I refinished it and is now much lighter. I bought a Poseidon PS3 pump, which is silent! I highly recommend this pump! There are two 1/2 inch Sea Swirls for water circulation. For lighting I have a 250 watt MH Reeflux 100,000K bulb and two 32 watt compact actinic bulbs plus homemade moonlights. In the sump I've got a Tunze skimmer and will soon add ozone, UV, and a carbon/Phosban cartridge filter.

My Tridacna crocea likes the MH much more than the VHOs. Other critters include Nick's scarlett wrasse, a dragon goby, hermits and snails, a sea cuke and an emerald crab. The only other fish will be a Chevron tang, arriving soon.

Thanks to all that have given me helpful advice or given or sold stuff to me at great deals!

Wow...you did a great job refinishing the stand and canopy. They look brand new. I bet that was a lot of work.
