New Tank/ Need Help

Just started up a saltwater tank 4 days ago. I put my rock in and then my sand and water. It has been 4 days and my water is still somewhat cloudy. I'm just trying to figure out if this is normal or if I did something wrong. It's a 90 gallon tank with 2 penguin 350s. I used the clarifier that came with the sand. Circulation pump is off. Sand is oolite. I have been rinsing my filters quite a bit to keep particles from clogging them. Could it be that I didn't clean my rock well enough? Or am I just freaking out?

What type of sand did you use? Most of us recommend using dry sand so you can rinse it well with a garden hose in 5 gallon buckets to remove the fines (dust). When you use live sand you need to rinse it in saltwater and it becomes very difficult and costly to get it clean. Since the damage is done continue frequently cleaning your filter socks. It will take a few days but eventually it will clear up.

I actually need to add more sand to my tank, so can I just rinse the live sand with a garden hose like you were talking about?

I had a similar problem when i started mine and what worked miracles for me personally was seachem clarifier. A little of that and my water was clear in a couple of hours.
