My LFS is getting me a quote on a tank. This will be my first tank with a built in overflow. I asked about a Marineland 300Gal (6'x3'x27") but I wanted some holes for a closed loop. He told me he could get it from Lee Mar for the same price but faster. My question is, I asked about a single center overflow instead of 2 corner overflows. He recommended a single 1 1/2" drain hole. I thought that tanks usually had two drain holes. I'm probably going to use my 1200 gph pump. I know the 1 1/2" drain hole will be adequate, but, is it normal for this size tank? Is there something better? Noise is a concern.
Thanks for any input.
