Don't get discouraged. There are a lot of helpful people here.
IMO, porcupines shouldn't be sold in stores. They get enormous. And they eat things that they shouldn't, like clean up crews, corals, and power cords.
With your fw experience, you know all about monos I'm sure.
The tang isn't ideal long-term, as others have said. I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to keep it for a couple years. If/when you want to get rid of it, those red sea (yellow belly) regals are worth a pretty penny. You won't have trouble selling it privately or to LFS.
I would find some more base rock, and add a black background. As said, start looking into more SW appropriate filtration. You can make a sump out of a 40 breeder easily and cheaply, and it will change your tank's life.
