Hello everyone,

This is my first post here. I live in the Appleton area and am looking to get back into the hobby...boy do I miss it!

I am either looking at a 37, 45, or 60 gallon set up to start back up..within the next year I want to get a 150 and use the smaller one as the quarantine tank then.

I am looking first and formost for a good looking stand and canopy at a reasonable price to start.....

I like the cherry color and LOVE the look of the All Glass Modern Series Cherry - but, of course, they discontinued them...

Also, anyone know of a good saltwater store in the Fox Valley? They have all seemed to have closed since I left the hobby a few short years ago.

Thanks!!

Welcome Back! I live in Eau Claire so I'm probably not much help for ya but if you are ever up this way I have free frags for you once you get started. Good luck:D

I got the 37 gallon set up today with the cherry sedona stand and canopy....very nice looking :D

Of course, I wanted the 60, lol, but kept having to tell myself this is going to be the quarantine tank in a few months so take it easy...

Now for the other stuff: live rock, live sand, lights (I really want a sabae anemone, but the lighting needed cost more than the tank set up!), etc....

Ok, I am not sure what frags are? But whatever they are, THANKS!

:D

Frags = fragments

Smaller pieces of coral that grow up to be larger pieces! :D

my suggestion would be to wait for the tank to mature before adding anemones
(about 1 year)

as for ligthing, you'll get a lot of different opinions about what is needed

a 37 has the cross brace, so 1 MH bulb would be directly over the top of it
look into T-5 lighting for now, but keep in mind
that you'll just end up purchasing everything again when you set the "big" tank up
so think carfully about you buy

Hey thanks for the info!

Yeah, I realize my tank will be pretty bare for the first few weeks and months.....

I am looking into PC, compact lighting, I saw a 130W, but am told that that is not enough for a sabae?

my point was, don't think about anything delicate until you know the
150 isn't going to get put together

Look into T5 for lighting options
they seem to be the future of lighting
