Hello,
I am new to RC but I have been reefkeeping for about 9 years. I recently got really into this forum and checking out all the old famous tanks and I feel compelled to throw mine in the mix.
I have a 300 gallon cube (48x48x30) Made by NextReef. They also custom made my sump and I put their XXL Skimmer and MR1 Media Reactor down there as well. The water is returned by a Reeflo HammerHead Hybrid that pumps 3500 GPH. Some of that goes to the skimmer.
The tank is lit by 4 Ecotech Radion G2's. Bit of a learning curve switching to LED with this new tank but I love them now.
Flow is provided by 2 Vortech MP60's.
I dose BRS calcium and alkalinity supplement via their dosing pumps and top off is provided by the Hydor Smart Level. I use 1 cup of kalk per 35 gallons of top off water and I am steadily increasing it.
Simple Setup as far as equipment is concerned. I really like it that way. The only thing I want to add is a huge refugium at least 155 gal. next to the tank and grow big mangroves. More-so because I really like mangroves but the phosphate control would be nice as well. I think about biopellets from time to time as well.
Inside I have approx. 220 lbs of Real Reef Rock. I started with more but I rescaped this tank a few times and kept taking out rock. Less is definately more sometimes. I also have 120 lbs. of sand. Fiji Pink and special grade reef #80 I believe.
Fish:
Red Sea Sailfin
Black Longnose
Blue Hippo
Regal Angel
3 Lyretail Anthias
Midas Blenny
ORA Black Ocellaris Pair
ORA Orange Skunk Pair
ORA Sharknose Goby Pair
ORA Yellow Assessor Pair
Flame Hawk
Pink Spot Goby
Blue Reef Chromis
Cleaner Wrasse
Thinking about some wrasses and and Imperator Angel.
Coral:
SPS:Acropora, Montipora, Seriatopora, etc...
LPS: LOTS OF BRAINS! I love Favias, Favites, Platys, and Lobos. I also have a few hammers, chalices, and a clustering duncan colony with at least 80 heads.
RBTA...
This tank has been set up since May 2013. Everything is growing and coloring up nicely. Let me know what you guys think and feel free to ask questions if I left anything out.:fish1:
