New to RC! Stocking a 115-gallon....

Hi everyone, I am brand-new on here"¦. just joined. So far, all I've had is a Nano cube since 2013, which is doing great, but I am about to take the plunge into the 115-gallon fish-only set-up. I'd like a yellow-bellied dogface puffer and a lunar wrasse. I also of course don't want to overload/overcrowd the tank. Just wondering if you have suggestions for a third tank mate, and also, a suggestion as to which order to add these fish? Is 3 too many? Would like all to get along as well as possible, and am open to all suggestions. Thanks in advance for the friendly advice. I'm new on here and new to a big tank, so kindness is appreciated. Congrats on the upgrade! It is nice to see someone take the approach of the smaller stocking list. Because the fish do have potential to get rather large I think you are smart to keep the stocking more minimal so you are less likely to have issues down the road. There are a few butterflyfish that would be able to be in there that could add some color and movement. There are also a few tangs that require smaller tank sizes. I have never had either of the fish you plan to place but based on reading, I would say the wrasse needs to go in last.

Make sure you fully research the care requirements for the Dog Face before you pull the trigger. They have care considerations that other fish do not.

It depends what kind of fish you want.

I wouldn't put any large tangs in a 5' tank. I really is important to give them a lot of swimming room. You could probably do a Kole tang or a Tomini tang as they don't get quite as large as their counterparts.

Dwarf Angels would be a good fit for you. They are fairly active and colorful. Flame Angel, BiColor Angel, Coral Beauty, Rusty, Potter's, etc. As far as regular Angels, I'm a huge fan of the Bellus Angel. I find them to be very beautiful, females more than males. I'd stay away from large Angelfish though.

If you want small little fish that zip around I would look at Coris Wrasses, Six-Line Wrasse, Flasher Wrasses, or some Blennies. Blennies are small and have a lot of personality and I find their faces to be goofy and endearing.
