Had a local reefer give me a Pink lemonaid and a Shaggy green Acro and an Apple Berry birds nest coral. The acros were only encrusting whe I got them they have begun to grow branches rather rapidly and are beautiful, the birds nest he said was a rescue coral and was missing some tisue but also has begun to grow rapidly and is also looking great although the areas missing tissue have not recovered, will these areas grow new tissue? I have always been afraid to keep SPS just thought it would be too difficult but it's been rather easy and I am enjoying watching this coral grow. I just hope it continues so that when the guy that gave this to me gets the new tank he wants I can return the favor!!!

in my experience sps moreorless encrust parts that have died or whatnot.sometimes people say to frag it off under the tissue recession...i think it depends on the recession myself...if its very fast yes...but if its drawn out over a few days it can happen without panic....i just bought a frag this past week...when gluing it in i broke it exatly in half (y shaped/wishbones shaped) and one side is dumpin its stissue, the other side is fine.
