New to SW & New to CDMAS HI!!

Yea the box is at 800 or right there, but i dont know i always liked more then too little because just in case of head pressure or turns all too retricting .....

I have always used 3-4" on sand have about thats now in my 180 and think its the best for all the pods, the only thing is my tanks is ReefReady and the lower holes will let the sand in, but other wise i push a little to the center and the front,,,,,,,,,

things will never be just right u will Always tweak a little here or there...........just try to set it up, upfront the best for lest spendage in the future will save a few $$$$$$

I have some Mangroves from Hawaii if u are interested for ur sump, and have some macro if u like..........(i have 3 different types if u like)

the idea of more sand in the fuge is all right i just rather grow more macro,, to help pull out the junk out of the water.......,

peace

Sounds Great!! I may take you up on that. Should I have the fuge set up during the cycling? Or do it after?

Dave,

Welcome.
I'm moving to your corner of the world soon. (Spiegletown) In the next couple weeks I'll be setting up my 125 system with a basement sump. I know that's not what you've planned but you can come by and check out the construction project when it starts.

I'm finishing my stand tonight. Should be Starting the tank next week. RODI system went in yesterday :)

Hey Matt,

Welcome to the neighborhood, your right down the road off 40, I pass by there all the time. I'd love to check out the setup! I think though I better get my equip done 1st and setup, otherwise I'll be drilling holes in the floor to do what your doing! (Yes, I have already looked in my basement and know exactly where I would make the holes!! Not yet though, this is my 1st SW tank. Maybe the next one when I upgrade.)

Well I picked up a 30 gal AGA that I'll use on the new sump design, along with all my plumbing parts.

Will plumb as follows: Main feed from tank will tee between the intake/skimmer section and the refugium. I have a ball valve on both sides. The return from the pump will also have a tee that can divert the water back to the sump if the Eheim 1262 proves to be too strong for the 600gph flow down from the tank. I set this up with a ball valve also.

I also just found out that the local Lowes will cut plexi to size!! Gonna head back there in the next few days to get all my partitions cut. I didn't have the exact measurements with me today.

Next is the ASM G3, the 2x Tunze 6060, an RO/DI unit, heaters, and all the little stuff I'll need. Then sand & LR.

I like the look of the Marshall Island LR. Has anyone ever ordered any of this stuff online and could recommend the website.?

Thanks

Dave
