New Toadstool - question

I am transitioning from a FOWLR to a mixed reef. Really enjoying the transition. I purchased a green toadstool about a week ago. First had it on the sand, and today moved up a bit on a rock where it seems happier - of course what do I know....

Anyway, I posted a photo but my question is - do only certain toadstools have the long tentacle like arms that extend out (what I am hoping this will do)?
If so, how do you know which will do so? The second photo is an example of what I am looking for.

last year I bought a rock with two toads on it. I cut one off and placed it on the other side of the tank. one has long polyps and the other had short. go figure.

I also have 2 toadstools with different length "tentacles". The one in a higher lit area seems to grow longer.
