I brought him home yesterday. When I put him in his Spines were pretty strong, but he didnt move all day...And today He hasnt moved either....so i reached my hand in and wanted to move him to another side of the tank and the spine that i grabbed came off VERY easily...this happened a few more times. ?I then decided to leave him alone.

Is he going to make it or is he a goner??

Umm another thing is that I really didnt acclimate him..My bad.

Ouch! That's probably what did it.

Most echinioderms need to be acclimated slowly as they're very sensitive to small changes in salinity. Also, most of them should not be exposed to air, if possible.

Oh well, live and learn. Better luck next time.

Yes..."your bad."

Echinoderms in general are very sensitive to changes in salinity...take the starfish whose body starts to fall apart after being exposed to a sudden change in SG.
