Many call them beginners corals because at times they can spread, grow and adapt very easily. In a way they are difficult but also some variety's are forgiving as far as water quality goes. As far as information goes, search the forums is a pretty broad answer but the best one I have for you. A lot of the times the best idea's you can get are from others that keep them.
Some thoughts for you.
Lighting- This can vary a lot. I started my zoa's with PC lights. They did well, moved to a 4xt5 setup..they got better, Moved to MH because I am also into SPS and the zoa's loved it. This may not always be the case though as some like lower light conditions.
Water quality- mine is pristine because I keep SPS as well but it's a very fine line of how pristine it can be before my zoa's become affected. Some say they like nutrient rich water, but there all of this is dependent upon the individuals system. What works in one tank may not work in another.
Go to an LFS and pick out some zoa's and give them a try. You'll be hooked.
