newb to the forum going to keep a mantis

you need to know what kind of mantis you want. and then you need to provide the proper environement for that species.

I would read the stickys and read anything you can find. IMO if you can keep a Reef , a mantis should be no problem unless youy want to put it in your reef, and you want an extreme species.

Oh yea.. Welcome to RC!

im going to keep a peacock mantis i can get them here in canada
will it be ok in a 22 gal ?
any info what so ever would be greatful

hey i always go to rogers im the freckled kid who goes in alot, well a 30gal would be better, u can feed them hermits, snails, frozen shrimp, smelt , squid and and pellets( well atleast mine likes pellets).

a 22g tank should be fine for a medium size peacock and they will always do better in a larger tank. keep in mind they do get rather large and they need lots of room.
