I'm looking into a 24 gal nano tank to keep seahorses. Is this an adaquate size and set up for breeding if I have any success? What equip. and stock would I need? Any info would be helpful.

I dunno what the tank height is on that... but the best size is around 3x the adult size of the horse. many readily availble horses need around 24 inches... a regular old 29 gallon works perfect for a pair or two.

to breed horses, they will breed in tank, but the babies must be taken out and maintained in thier own setup... do research on syngnathid.org and seahorse.org for all of your questions!!!

For breeding you will need additional tanks for fry and juviniles, possibly rotifer cutltures (depending on species), baby brine shrimp, lots of salt and lots of time. :D

There are some good discussions on breeding here if you search for them. You can also go to the breeder forum and ask lots of questions.

I am lucky because I have a smaller breed of horse so I can get away with a shorter tank for breeding. All the pros say you need that 3x height.

Good luck.
