Newbie questions on adding corals.. real beginner

You're doing the right thing, Yankeeslover. If you put GSP, Xenia or mushrooms in your tank it won't be long before you're scraping them off the rocks and giving them away - which is probably what the guy on Craigslist is doing.

Well, we will see if i am doing the right thing or not

and see if i rushed to fast.. I went to a really nice salt water shop... took me 1 hr to get there but it was the nicest one i have seen in upstate NY... called healthy pet center... The specialest there worked with me over hour... anyways, this is what i took home.. 4 frags... took home a blue mushroom, yellow polyp, some kind of greenish zoa and a red people eater pally, of course as you can imagine it was before i read the above about the toxins in the pallys and the zoa.. and of course I handled and glued down the frags with my bare hands..LOL.... hopefully i am alive in the morning to post again..:headwally:
Anyways, if im lucky enough to be alive to see them grow, then im ok with my purchases.. She advised me the Yellow polpy are not nearly as bad as the green star ones and should not over run the tank... and that little lone blue baby mushroom just caught my eye.... the zoas are tiny..about the size of half dollar... and each only has 4 or 5 heads or flowers or whatever they are called.
So now that you know what i have, how many hours of light would I need? i have the coralife T5ho bulb and the blue night bulb next to it that both run at the same time...how many hours per day should I run them? and I have two powerheads in the tank, how do i know if i have too much or too little water flow for these new guys? thanks again to all..

A minimum of 8 hours a day is recommended up to a maximum of 12 hours. But at this stage 12 hours would most probably promote bad algae/ cyano growth which will become difficult to deal with so I'd go with 8.

Flow is easy, if they open up(probably like you saw them at the LFS) and extend, your flow is fine. If they stay closed up for more then 2 or so days, move them around. I typically start with any coral on my sand bed in the front of my tank, so not only can I keep an eye on it, but it gets acclimated to my tank and lights. Low flow, low light is typically how Zoas like it, although some of my zoas like low flow and high light, go figure...

Healthy pet center in troy? My mom lives in clifton park and I go there once in a while. If you are in the capitol region, go check out Eddies Aquarium in Latham, best LFS in the area IMO.

Ooops another newbie mistake

well, im still here... poison didnt get me... I already epoxied all 4 down..oops.... i guess we all learn by mistakes. I will keep an eye on them all... i forgot.. i have two turbo snails and a emerald crab to go with my hermits... hopefully they dont eat all my new toys...

Naa emeralds and snails won't eat the zoas. You may find the emerald picking at the zoas, but he typically won't harm them, just picking stuff off the plug. With that said, my emerald is so clumsy when picking at the frag plug he inadvertently gets a polyp from time to time. I know its him cause I can see green florescence on his lips, and I've seen him do it. He immediately spits the polyp out, but the evidence is on his lips. :D

they all opened up this morning.... i put them all lower in the tank except the red people eater zoa, that is halfway up the rockscape and closest to the light.... and can someone please explain to me, HOW IN THE HECK DID MY MUSHROOM GROW OVERNIGHT???? im not going nuts(i dont think) but its twice the size then it was when i purchased it yesterday.
