I am currently on my first saltwater tank. It is a 29g biocube that has been going for two months now. I really like the look of carpet anenomes but not comftorable enough with my reef experiences to spend $80 on one. Any one have any small ones for sale? I wouldn't be opposed to spending around $40 or less on it. also looking to add a nano type skimmer as well, any advice on what brand? I figure I'll probably be spending $50 - $100 on this. And who has them in stock as well?

I would not suggest a Carpet Anenome they need a lot of light and grow quite large.

Take your time, and let your tank mature, before adding to much. And always research for just buying.. There are a lot of things in this hobby that just don't do really well together, and could cause you a lot of problems down the road.

What type of Lights do you have?

Yeah I'd agree, to small of a tank and not mature enough IMHO. You could try a Bubble tip anemone instead, they are a lot more hardy and are very beautiful also they'll host a clown just fine!

and best of all you see them go on here all the time for well under 40!

The main board at Reef Central has a section on Anenomes and Clownfish. It has tons of info and I'm sure it will discourage you from a large carpet. I agree with Lucas that a BTA would be the best choice. They seem to be one of the few types that don't need absolutely perfect conditions and they reproduce fairly easily by dividing.

So far I've found that there is a lot of heartache and envy in a biocube. Damn you all, I am not in a permanent location to be getting a large tank. Thats it! I'm moving and getting a million gallon tank with more lights than busch stadium. Well enough of my rant. Any one know about the nano skimmers?

check with premium aquatics, don't know if they got it in stock but they said they could get it but there is a nice one made my octopus brand skimmers. Do not use the current fission brand nano skimmer it don't work. you can make a bio cube work just don't load it up with fish, its the bioload which makes them unstable.
