I am looking to get into the photography hobby. What is a good beginners camera to start off with. Mind you have I no experience what so ever. ANy advice is greatly appreciated

First it depends on the money you want to spend. Secondly, are you looking to just shoot pictures or do you really want to get into the specifics of being able to control your f-stop and aperture?

Best bet would be to look at the amateur dslr cameras by nikon or cannon. With a lens in the package you are looking somewhere around $600-$800. But that will give you the most flexibility and if you find you really enjoy it, it can take you far.

Definitely DSLR. With macro lens. However it's not budget solution at all. If you are tight on money, try to put your hands on some Christmas promotion for the body with kit and later add macro lens.
There is no real other choice if you want good quality pictures.
However, as i said - it's expensive hobby, you should already knew it when you start the aquarium.

P.S.
If i look for cheap solution, i would go for second hand Canon 350D and suitable macro lens (50, 60 or even 100mm macro by Canon). Another solution is Sigma 17-70. You will need one that can do 2.8 aperture.
