He's actually not that bad. It will eat small shrimp, fish and I'm not sure if it's him or my wrasse that are eating my snails. I know that since I've had him, my Melanurus wrasse has become very aggressive. Now they team up and kill things together. Since the addition of the hawk I've lost a watchman goby, peppermint shrimp 2 pistol shrimp, 2 snails and a hermit. But, my "reef safe" wrasse is the one I noticed being the more aggressive one. The Wrasse is the one that actually killed the goby. I witnessed him dragging him around my the tail fin. And he's the one always picking at the snails. The hawkfish killed my peppermint shrimp and than the wrasse stole it from him. So I really don't know who to blame. My only main problem with the hawk is that I have 40# of live rock with a lot of hiding places and caves, etc and instead of him choosing one specific area of rock to claim he has considered all the rock "his" and doesn't really let other fish take home to it. He's got an awesome personality though and fun to watch roaming around.
