WoW the ones on the first pic are amazing were did you get them??? i love that kind of zoas i have 2 polyps of those but i wish i could get more ....anyways your new zoas are really nice... and interesting aquascape you got there realy nice ....
P.S: about background i always like the black personally but the blue looks really nice i like how it makes the colors of corals to pop... so i guess is up to you bouth will look fine... and you can always stick with as is and when you get borred upgrade to black and you'll have a kinda new tank
I would agree that a black background would make everything stand out nicer since it would help bring out the colors of the tank. It's a beautiful tank btw. Great pics!!!
Personally I really like the blue background as it makes it look serene like I'm staring at a reef in the ocean. As far as the aquascaping goes, my personal preference would be to move the gsp to the foreground away from the other pieces to give more of a difference in height.
Lay it on the gravel? If thats what you meant. What about rock should I build with more live rock on one side or just keep building up. I just don't think it looks like a saltwater.
Now that I see the full view of the tank, I think that where the gsp is located is perfect....I just didn't see how far forward it came in the original picture...sorry. The black background looks fantastic in that picture...perhaps that would look best...sorry for my rushed conclusions
I REALLY like the black better. It brings out the color in the tank better.
As far as aquascaping goes, I'm a fan of building up both sides and then making a bridge in the middle. Here's my tank for a reference.
This is the tank now, our "arch" is currently missing because we have so many frags and added the green mushroom rock, so we're running out of room. The second pic is my ideal aquascaping.
The other reason for the open sandbed is for Gilbert our Diamond Sleeper Goby. All he does is sift sand and we try to leave him as much sand as possible to move around.
No PVC. We just played with the rocks until they fit together like a puzzle. None of them move and no one has knocked over a big rock yet. We've had a few of the smaller rocks fall, but those were all frags that we didn't glue down. The lights are actually T5s. Two actinics and two 60/40s.
