Both tanks look awesome. But the 180 looked absolutely amazing almost a scene right out of the ocean. Are you going to paint or cover the back of the new 117? All those pipes, hoses, and wires are a little distracting!

Thanks. I do miss the 180, hopefully in the future when I get a bigger place. I can setup an even bigger Peninsla tank. As far the back area, I ordered some black vinyl to cover. The overflow will be covered in briarium/gsp and coralline.

NICE..
How do you have the water so crystal clear ???

and do u have pic's of your Peninsula setup ??

Hopefully this summer i will be setting up my 110 slim Peninsula..

I wanna get some idea's ..
thanks

i just ordered that epoxy that you recommended. one quick question about it.... do u have to press the corals hard against it to make them stick? as if i had a ricordia that not attached to any rock, would i have to press it pretty hard on that puddy (possibly damaging the ricordia)?

So what prompted you to make the switch? Starphire glass?

Mainly because of the many scratches on the 180.

Janey,

I use 2 cups of carbon and run them for two weeks at a time to keep the water clear. You won't regret setting up a peninsula, it's like having 2 tanks in one.

After mixing the epoxy, I usually let it sit outside of the water for about a minute. This way the epoxy will have time to dry/harden up a little bit making it easier for you to attach the coral into the rock.

New Stylo I picked up yesterday. Sorry the image sucks, I couldn't find my tripod, so I had to hand hold.

This is my favorite tank. I like the rockwork you made there and i like the dimensions of it. the coral placement also! I'd liek to know how you did your plumbing though. This is somethign I'd definitly want to try out.

Thank you. I'm glad you like my rockwork.

My plumbing is actually super simple. Drain(s) is just a basic Durso that consist of 1.5inch Main Drain and 1 inch Emergency drains, just in case the main clogs for some reason. For the return, I just have a "Y" Splitter connected to an Oceanrunner 3500, split into 2x1inch returns and into a pair of Flo-accelerators.

Awesome looking tank. I'm planning on doing the island approach with the rock when I upgrade in a few months.
