niger trigger + reef safe?

niger are coral safe, but reef safe is a hit and miss. They'll most likely go after your shrimp and small fish as they get bigger.

I'd say they're hit and miss for both corals and other fish and inverts. Any one individual is extremely hard to predict.

great fish, but i would watch out for inverts, but have seen them around coral quite often and have been great around them.

Mine was fine in my reef for about 6 months then he got to about 5-6" size and ate oh about $400 worth of zoos so I would never do it again

hey fishylover, my favorite LFS store here in orlando got him for me.they had him in the store for about 5 weeks and then I just had to have him. I knew he was healthy so he wasnt a hugh risk.

I have a 75gl with a 5" Niger - no problems so far - Got the trigger about a year ago. However, I would take him out if I could catch him without ripping apart the reef. Trust me when I say I have tried all types of trapping methods;)

My old niger killed every shrimp I put in my 90 gallon.

For that to have a chance of working, the shrimp has to already be well established before the niger is added. And feeding the niger krill or ghost shrimp will make the chances of success plummet.
