Niger Trigger

Anyone has experience with niger triggers in a reef tank? Please share. Thanks

I had one in my 125 gal and my surgeon did not like it at all, the trigger was peacful to other tankmates wich included clowns and anthias but my anthias was too afraid to get out of the rocks and died. I ended up catchin it to find it a fish only tank. IMO not suitable for a reeftank, but with exeptions with larger fish...

Many people consider the niger trigger to be relatively reef-safe, but that gives you maybe a 50-50 chance.

They are one of the least aggressive triggers, but a trigger just the same. Mine never bothered corals but turned my snails into a feast.

They are ok when they are small, but not so much as they grow. They are not the same when they are 4-6" plus - they can get very aggressive. There are better choices for triggers in reef tanks.
