Today, Nikon Inc. announced four new lenses to the legendary NIKKOR line to meet the needs of all types of photographers, from those looking for the ideal lens for capturing memories of the school play to pro glass that captures client work in the studio. The new AF-S DX 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR, AF-S 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR, AF-S 24-120mm f/4G ED VR and AF-S 85mm f/1.4G deliver the optical excellence and stunning image quality that consumers have become accustomed to with AF-S NIKKOR lenses. Nikon's optical engineering experience and devotion to extraordinary standards of excellence have contributed to the strength and legend of the NIKKOR brand. With the addition of these four lenses, 2010 has seen the introduction of a total of seven new NIKKOR lenses, reinforcing Nikon's role as the world leader in optics.

still missing an 85/1.2L, 70-200/4L, 50/1.2, 35/1.4L, and 100-300L equivalents

But it's good to know that Nikon is slowly building up that f/4 lineup that is missing... also my 3 prime trinity will be complete soon: 24/1.4G, 50/1.4G, and 85/1.4G :D

Perhaps the most intriguing product was the D3100.... continuous AF on video?? wow.. and finally a 1080p from Nikon!

I'm sick of lugging my 70-200/2.8. I wish Nikon comes out with a 70-200/4 soon.

It's hard to get excited about that announcement to be honest. Then again, I'm sure that those lenses appeal to others with completely different shooting styles than myself.

Oh the woes of paying for school. I would definitely be picking up the new 85/1.4 but what can ya do... :(

"Perhaps the most intriguing product was the D3100" - yeah, I'm considering this as a more portable companion to my D300, 1/3 the weight plus video. I heard some speculation though that the continuous AF makes noise that the microphone picks up though.
