Nikon P5100 pics

I picked up a Nikon P5100 this past week and have started playing around with it.

For my own general purposes away from the tank, an SLR just isn't practical.. the P5100 fits in a pocket unnoticed and gives me some SLRish features to play with (translation: screw up with). :p

Most of these shots are without tripod, so the focus gets hosed some. There are also shots in ISO400, which gets kinda noisy.
A couple of the many things I need to work on.

I've downloaded the free trial of capture NX, but have not done much save some cropping in post production. Hopefully by the end of the trial I'll decided to go with it or give elements a shot.

comments and criticism would be welcome....

No tripod for either macro.... which is the main reason for the blur, I was just trying to see how close I could get...

Very nice shoots for a point & shoot!! I like the look of the helimeda algae. I have a lot of that algae in my tank.

this one is awesome!

and how can anyone resist the puppy?

very nice pics
I always try to get as close as possible too and theres a fine line when it starts to blur. I know there are alot of settings and technique but I really do just like to point and click at things and see how they turn out! even without a tripod lol these are great

Nice pictures.
Still as the purpose of your post is to show how good this camera can perform it would be best if you could use a tripod for all yourshots and maybe decrease water movement a bit in the tank.
